SPEAKERS:

Robert McNally

Robert McNally is an energy expert, author and founder and President of The Rapidan Group, an independent energy consulting and market advisory firm based in Washington DC. During the first term of President George W. Bush, Mr. McNally served on the White House staff as Special Assistant to the President on the National Economic Council and Senior Director for International Energy on the National Security Council. He is the author of Crude Volatility: The History and the Future of Boom-Bust Oil Prices (Columbia University Press, 2016). Mr. McNally's 24-year professional career includes senior financial market and official posts spanning economic, security, and environmental aspects of energy market analysis, strategy, and policymaking.

Mr. McNally received a BA/BS in International Relations and Political Science from American University and an MA in International Economics and American Foreign Policy from The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He was co-chair for energy policy on the 2008 Romney Campaign, served on the Policy Advisory Committee for Senator Marco Rubio's 2010 campaign, and regularly advises congressional and administration officials on energy policy and markets. He is a Member of the National Petroleum Council.

Jonathan Goldberg

Jonathan Goldberg is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of BBL Commodities, LP (“BBL” or the “Investment Manager”). The Investment Manager seeks to generate positive risk-adjusted returns predominantly via relative value trade opportunities that are uncorrelated to market direction. The Investment Manager trades liquid and listed futures and options with a focus in the petroleum market and a specialty in refined products. Prior to founding the Investment Manager in 2013, Mr. Goldberg worked in Glencore's oil department from 2010 through 2013 where he was responsible for helping to build the firm's US oil derivatives business. Mr. Goldberg managed a proprietary book and leveraged his financial experience as well as his understanding of the physical oil markets. Before joining Glencore as a partner, Mr. Goldberg worked for J. Aron, the commodities division of Goldman Sachs from 2003 to 2010. Mr. Goldberg began his career working with Goldman's refining and end-user clients on structured hedging transactions before taking over a proprietary trading role where he traded across the commodity complex but concentrated on his expertise in oil products. Mr. Goldberg graduated from Yale College with honors with a degree in economics in 2003.
