Bios:

Bob Slaughter is President of NPRA, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association, a national trade association representing the petroleum refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries. Mr. Slaughter assumed this position in March 2002 after serving as NPRA’s General Counsel and Director of Public Policy for three years. Prior to joining NPRA, Mr. Slaughter served as Director of Federal Relations in Amoco Corporation’s Washington, D.C., office. He previously served as Director of Congressional Relations for the Natural Gas Supply Association and as Director of Federal Relations for Pacific Resources, Incorporated.

Mr. Slaughter’s government service includes time spent as Administrative Assistant to former Senator and Congressman Bob Krueger (D-Texas). He was also Special Assistant for Energy Policy to Krueger while the latter was serving as Ambassador-at-large and Coordinator of U.S.-Mexican Relations at the State Department. A graduate of Yale College and Georgetown University Law Center (cum laude).

 

Malcolm M. Turner is Chairman of Turner, Mason & Company which provides management and engineering consulting services for the petroleum and petrochemical industries. He is a graduate of Rice University with BA (1958) and MSChE (1959) degrees. Prior to founding Turner, Mason & Company in 1971, he was with Conoco. He has extensive experience in refinery appraisals, acquisitions and reorganizations, venture analysis and development, economic and feasibility studies, financial planning, crude oil marketing, pipelines, design and operation of refinery and chemical processes, and expert testimony. Mr. Turner is a Licensed Professional Engineer (Texas).

 

Lawrence J. Goldstein is President of the Petroleum Industry Research Foundation, Inc. He has extensive advisory relationships with energy companies, research institutes and government agencies. He has testified before congressional committees and regulatory bodies. He has been appointed to the National Petroleum Council (NPC) by The Secretary of Energy and is a contributor to studies by the NPC. He has given private briefings to Chairman Greenspan and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. For the past two years, he has been a consultant to the Iraqi Coalition Provisional Authority. He is also President of the PIRA Energy Group, an energy consulting firm that is currently retained by over 480 companies.
