Timothy Krysiek

Timothy Krysiek is a Manager in the Global Strategy and Business Development organization in Statoil, where he develops investment opportunities in the oil and gas, solar and transportation sectors. Previously, he was CEO Advisor, focusing on executive speechwriting and communication. Krysiek has held multiple leadership positions at Statoil, including Head of Valuation for Business Development North America, Head of Strategy and Portfolio for Exploration North America and Project Manager of the Corporate Arctic Task Force. Before joining Statoil, Krysiek was a researcher and consultant at IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates, a visiting researcher at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and a political risk consultant for Google. Krysiek holds an MBA with from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He studied international affairs in the United Kingdom as a Marshall Scholar, earning an MSc from the University of Oxford and a MLitt from the University of St Andrews. Krysiek holds a BA in Intelligence Studies and Russian and Post-Soviet Studies from Mercyhurst University. Currently, Krysiek is representing Statoil in the World Business Council for Sustainable Development Leadership Program.

Jeffrey Berman

Jeffrey Berman is a Director of Emissions and Clean Energy at PIRA Energy Group/S&P Global Platts, where he is responsible for assessments and forecasts of environmental markets and regulations in North America, Europe, and Asia. Additionally, he monitors renewable energy technologies and policy for PIRA’s North American electricity practice. Mr. Berman started his career as an analyst and data manager at MDRC, a New York-based public policy consultancy. He holds a Master’s degree in energy policy and finance from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree from the London School of Economics.


Carolyn Kissane

Dr. Carolyn Kissane serves as the Academic Director of the graduate program in Global Affairs at the Center for Global Affairs and is a Clinical Associate Professor where she teaches graduate level courses examining the geopolitics of energy, comparative energy politics, energy, environment and resource security, a regional course focusing on Central Asia.

She is Coordinator of the Energy and Environment concentration at the Center and is faculty adviser to the Energy Policy International Club. Dr. Kissane was awarded the esteemed NYU Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007, the SCPS Award for Teaching Excellence in 2009, and nominated for the NYU-wide Distinguished Teaching Award in 2008, 2009 and 2016.

She was named Breaking Energy's Top Ten New York Women in Energy and Top Ten Energy Communicator. She hosts Fueling our Future, an energy series she moderates which brings in energy and environment experts for conversation and debate. She serves on the boards of the New York Energy Forum, New York Energy Week, and the Clean Start Advisory Board. Dr. Kissane received her Ph.D. from Columbia University.
