President Trump has already signed dozens of executives actions that will impact energy, trade, climate, foreign policy and beyond. In about three weeks after the inauguration, how will these policy actions evolve and how will they impact the energy market in the US and globally. We will look at the broader overview of the major changes anticipated ahead in terms of geopolitics, trade and supply and demand for the enegy market and the short and longer term implications. We will also delve more specifically into implications on developments in the Middle East and next steps for OPEC+ as well as implications of potential tariffs on Canadian energy exports to the US and how will companies navigate the uncertainties ahead.

Robert McNally

Robert (“Bob”) McNally is the founder and president of Rapidan Energy Group, a Washington, DC-based independent energy market policy and geopolitical consulting firm. Bob's 33-year career includes service as a White House energy advisor to President George W. Bush, an oil market analyst, and a hedge fund strategist at Tudor Investment Corporation. His acclaimed book Crude Volatility: The History and the Future of Boom-Bust Oil Prices (Columbia University Press, 2017) won the IAEE 'Marcel Boiteux Best International Energy Economics Book Award in 2023 and Bob was awarded the IAEE Adelman-Frankel Award in 2024. Leading media outlets regularly interview Bob, who frequently testifies before Congress on energy markets and national security.

From 2001 to 2003, he served as Special Assistant to the President on the White House National Economic Council and, in 2003, as Senior Director for International Energy on the National Security Council. Bob earned his B.A./B.S. in Political Science and International Relations from American University and his M.A. in International Economics and Foreign Policy from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Helima Croft

Helima Croft is a Managing Director and the Head of Global Commodity Strategy and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Research at RBC Capital Markets. She specializes in geopolitics and energy, leading a team of commodity strategists that cover energy, metals, and cross-commodity investor activity.

Helima is a member of the National Petroleum Council, a select group of individuals who advise, inform and make recommendations to the Secretary of Energy with respect to any matter relating to oil and natural gas. She also is a CNBC contributor, a member of the channel’s exclusive family of experts, is on the Board of Directors for the Atlantic Council, is a member of the Trilateral Commission, and is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Helima joined RBC Capital Markets from Barclays, where she was a Managing Director and Head of North American Commodities Research. Prior to that, she worked in Lehman’s Business Intelligence group, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Central Intelligence Agency, where she focused on geopolitics and commodities. Helima has received her PhD in economic history from Princeton in 2001.

Peter Rose

Peter Rose is Senior Director for stakeholder relations at Hydro-Quebec Energy Services in the United States and a member of the Champlain Hudson Power Express project team in New York. Mr. Rose has 20 years of professional experience in communications and public relations. He has previously held positions at UNICEF, Quebec Government Offices in Washington, DC, and New York, as well as for the organizing committee of the UN Climate Change Conference in Marrakech (COP22).

He holds a master’s degree in global affairs with a speciality in energy and environment from New York University. Prior to that, he studied communications at the American University in Paris, and international relations at Sciences Po Paris. In addition to his native English, he speaks French and German.

Ed Morse

Edward Morse Chairs the Energy Forum Advisory Board and is Special Advisor at Hartree Partners. Previously, he was Global Head of Commodities Research at Citi. He held similar positions at Lehman and Credit Suisse, taught at Princeton, Columbia and Johns Hopkins Universities, worked at the Council on Foreign Relations, served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Policy, and in management at Phillips Petroleum. A co-founder of PFC Energy, a former publisher at Energy Intelligence, he also worked at Hess Energy Trading. As a consultant he helped design Yemen's oil pricing policy and assisted the UN Security Council on the design and negotiation of the Iraqi Oil-for-Food Program. He writes op-eds for the FT, NY Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post and often comments at Bloomberg TV and CNBC. He has been a Senior Fellow of both the USAEE and the IEEJ and was named by Petroleum Economist as among the ten most prominent individuals in energy finance.
